A BETTER WAY TO GIVE!!!
Friends who are age 70 1/2 can choose to maximize their Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) by making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). Gifts given directly to a QCD are not included in your adjusted gross income AND you can receive a 50% State Tax Credit on the gift.
QCDs would include Heritage Hall, Sagamore (our SGO scholarship fund), and Community Foundation (Teacher Endowment Fund). For more information, see IRS publication 590B or check with your tax advisor.
