STEM CLUB

Picture
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics is becoming increasingly important in our technological society.  It combines hands-on, problem-based learning with activities that encourage students to brainstorm, plan, create, communicate, and collaborate.

Elementary STEM Club

Mrs. Jodi Chae, STEM Teacher
Our 3rd–6th graders participate in our Elementary STEM Club.  The activities include practical experiments, investigations, group work, competitions, discussion and reflection.  6th grade students focus more on robotics and coding.  STEM club meets on a weekly basis. Mrs. Chae helps to encourage our students to brainstorm, plan, create, communicate and collaborate.

Secondary STEM Class

Mrs. Kelly Beeson, STEM Teacher
The goal for Freshman STEM class is to spend a semester each year systematically learning basic electronics through 3 levels. The leveled courses provide thorough instruction on building electrical circuits, writing computer code in Python, and pulling those skills together to build mobile electronic devices and write programs to control them (robotics).
